Couples therapy

Couples therapy & relationship counselling is a form of therapy that looks to improve communication and resolve issues within an intimate relationship. The relationship can be a marriage, cohabiting, straight or same sex.

Whilst couples therapy is ideally suited to couples attending the sessions together. In regards to the techniques used, much of the therapy is about providing; a space to talk, someone to mediate and an opportunity to talk about things that may not be so easy when its just the two of you.

Common issues brought to therapy are:

  • Different parenting styles
  • Life changes
  • Lack of trust
  • Betrayal or affair
  • Jealousy
  • Lack of communication
  • Financial issues
  • Different sexual needs or other sexual issues
  • Family conflicts
  • Different goals and values
  • Persistent arguments

Couples therapy can help you find a way forward, it does not have to be the end of the road for your relationship.

We have specialist practices in Northampton, Milton Keynes, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Edinburgh and London. Additionally we can offer online couples therapy or relationship counselling for those who are further afield or are struggling to make it to a practice.
